YAMAHA MT09 (2024+) SLIPSTREAM EXHAUST SYSTEM

Track-inspired design. Street-ready performance.

The 2024+ Yamaha MT09 takes the CP3 platform in a sharper, more refined direction with a lighter chassis, improved electronics, and a more connected ride feel. But like every factory CP3 exhaust, the stock system still compromises sound, weight, and overall presence.

The Kelpi Slipstream exhaust system redefines how a track-inspired exhaust should sit under the bike.

Designed with a tighter, more underslung layout than our traditional CP3 system, Slipstream pulls everything further inboard tighter under the engine for a cleaner, more integrated finish, all while unlocking the unmistakable character of Yamaha’s triple.

Expect a raspier, more purposeful tone, stronger midrange drive, sharper throttle response, and a noticeable weight saving over the bulky factory unit.

Performance & Tuning

Slipstream uses a high-flow catalytic converter and removable baffle to maintain street usability while still delivering meaningful gains.

The Flanker muffler includes a standard perforated baffle (inserted in the inlet side of the muffler). This baffle is removable. Customers can also opt for a Quietcore baffle as an optional extra — this baffle replaces the standard perforated baffle for a more subdued volume level. Both the Quietcore and standard baffle are included when opting for the Quietcore option.

On a properly tuned setup, riders can expect:

• Gains of up to 10–12hp at the wheel
• Noticeably stronger midrange torque
• Cleaner, more predictable throttle transitions
• Quicker engine response under acceleration

For standard road use, the system operates safely on the factory ECU mapping when used with the supplied baffle. You will not need to tune your bike if using the standard baffle, and you will not encounter any check engine lights.

If you’re pairing it with intake modifications or running without the baffle for maximum flow, an ECU flash or dyno tune is strongly recommended to extract the full benefit of the system.

We’ve partnered with Kevin Hope to develop a CP3-specific tune based on extensive dyno testing and real-world data logging to suit our exhaust platforms. Contact us directly if you'd like to organise this upgrade.

The Slipstream Difference

The MT09 Slipstream isn’t just about sound; it’s about integration.

Compared to the traditional CP3 layout, Slipstream:

• Sits further under the bike for a more compact visual profile
• Eliminates the bulky factory exhaust box
• Improves ground clearance
• Reduces exposed components
• Creates a more streamlined, MotoGP/track-inspired aesthetic

The result is a lighter, cleaner silhouette that complements the MT09’s aggressive naked styling without visually overpowering it.

Flanker Muffler – MT09 Configuration

Slipstream is paired with our Flanker muffler, chosen for its compact proportions and modern finish.

• Carbon-tipped design with stainless mesh grille
• Deep burble at low RPM with a sharp, raspy note higher in the rev range
• Compact, low-profile mounting position
• Sportier than stock, yet comfortable with the included baffle
• Even quieter with optional Quietcore insert

This system delivers presence without becoming intrusive, which is ideal for a street-focused performance build.

MT09 (2024+) Specific Design

Slipstream has been engineered specifically around the updated 2024+ MT09 chassis and geometry.

• Dedicated mounting hardware for the revised frame
• Optimised pipe routing for tighter under-engine packaging
• Designed around twin O2 sensor configuration (Euro 5+)
• Improved protection in the event of a drop

Each kit includes:

Headers
Collector
Link pipe
High-flow catalytic converter
Flanker muffler
Springs and fasteners
Removable baffle insert
O2 bung + block-off hardware

Euro 5+ Compatible

Euro 5+ compliant MT09 models run twin O2 sensors. Slipstream systems are supplied ready to accommodate both sensors.

If your bike runs a single sensor (varies by market), simply use the included bung and block-off bolt.

For customers seeking a de-cat configuration (track use only), contact us directly to discuss available options.
